What is the best thing about Lewis?
Lewis is a great school for those who like the small campus feel. The class sizes are small, allowing for better communication between professors and students. With it being a small campus, it allows us to get to know more people. Lewis feels like its own little community between the student body, faculty, and staff.
Why did you choose Lewis?
While I was deciding on colleges, I actually took 3 different campus tours of Lewis. Everytime I went on a tour, I was immediately drawn to how beautiful the exterior of the campus was. It was something that always created a good first impression. Ultimately, the biggest reason I chose Lewis was because of the close proximity from home. While I was a resident on campus, I loved having the option to be able to go home on the weekends to see my friends and family. I was able to experience being able to have that going away and living on my own experience, but the distance also allowed me go home easily.
What inspired you to study your major?
I have always been fascinated by consumer behavior. Why do people purchase the things they do? What inspires people to purchase things in the way they purchase them? What things can be done to influence consumer purchase behaviors? Marketing is very much about knowing the consumer, how and why they buy things, and this fascination led me towards pursuing marketing as my major.
What do you do for fun at the University?
I enjoyed most of my time working on campus in the University Advancement Office, and having the privilege to connect with alumni on a daily basis. I met some of the best people through my job and created so many wonderful memories with all of the other students' workers. I have so many memories of playing pool late at night in the residence halls and Tuesday dinners at Charlie’s with friends.
What would you like to say to everyone who has supported you throughout your journey at Lewis?
There are not enough words to say how thankful I am for everyone who supported me throughout my time at Lewis. To my professors, I thank you for the time, patience, and sharing your knowledge and life experiences to better educate me for my future. To alumni, thank you for your constant support to the University and helping students like me have the best college experience possible. To my work colleagues, I thank them the most because I always received endless support from them. They truly helped guide and shape me into the person I am today. Not only did I gain experience in the workplace, but I believe I truly gained life experience through them. Finally, my friends and family, I can’t thank them enough for being a constant support throughout college and being there for me through all the highs and lows.
What is one fun fact about you?
I will be the 5th Lewis alumnus in my immediate family!
