Admissions Events
Here’s your chance to show how great Lewis University is, and to share your experience with prospective students. Alumni Letter Writing
University Advancement is partnering with the Office of Admissions to recruit incoming freshmen to attend Lewis and we could use alumni help! Many students have recently applied to Lewis, been accepted, but have not yet taken the final step to enroll. To encourage these students to commit to attending Lewis, we started an alumni letter-writing program. Here’s where alumni come in - we need YOU to write letters that reflect the impact that the University had on your personal and professional life. We will then send those letters to prospective students in hopes that they will become Flyers!
Alumni Representatives
Alumni Representatives consider Lewis University as one of their charities of choice - a place where they give back their time, treasure, and talent! Make your mark at Lewis by becoming an Alumni Rep! Learn more at alumni.lewisu.edu/AlumniRep.
Career Services
Help the Office of Career Services grow the Lewis University network through supporting students! Show off your Flyer pride and download your very own Career Services volunteer badge HERE!
- Career Advisor: Video Message: Send in a short 30 second video advising current students on the importance of gaining career-related experience before graduating or offering your best career advice.
- Internship Guide: We are looking for alumni and/or companies who can offer short-term paid micro-internships. Utilizing an eager college student can help move those projects that sit on the backburner along, and it gives our students real life experience.
- Industry Advisor: Allow a student to reach out to you. We are looking for alums who can be available to take a 10-15 minute phone call to answer questions related to your career, current position or company, the pathway that led you to your present position, or things you wish you knew while you were in college.
- Practice Interview Analyst: Help with interview skills! We are looking for alumni volunteers with interview and hiring experience to view and rate video recorded interview questions (10 – 20 minutes.)
Or sign up to help with the Career Expo! All alumni are invited to attend this event, either as a hiring employer, participant or a volunteer. Looking for a new job or want to recruit students? Not job hunting or hiring, but still want to see what’s going on? You can help out at the alumni table – we could always use extra hands as we take LinkedIn profile headshots for current students and alumni. We love to see Flyers helping Flyers! If interested in signing up as an employer, visit us online. If interested in volunteering, contact us at alumni@lewisu.edu.
Classroom Speaker - Virtual and in-person options available!
You’re smart, you’re talented, and you’re successful in your field - of course you are, you’re a Flyer! Come share your story and expertise with current Lewis students as a Classroom Speaker. We’ll keep your name on file and share it with professors who request speakers in a field of your expertise.
Celebration of Scholarship
Each year, Lewis University hosts a symposium to celebrate the research, scholarly work and creative endeavors of students and faculty. Following a keynote address, poster sessions will be held spotlighting the scholarship of students and faculty from all Colleges across the University. We would like to invite you to take part in the celebration by serving as a poster session judge. Students will talk to you about their projects including background, relevant methods or research process and the overall project findings/conclusions. A scoring sheet will help aid you in evaluating the students’ projects, so you do not need to be an expert in the field!
Event Host
Are you interested in hosting an alumni event or gathering? We would love to work with you!
Move-In Week
Move-In Week is one of the best times of the year! New students are being welcomed into the Flyer Family, and we would love alumni volunteers to join us for this exciting opportunity. Volunteers will welcome new and returning students and their families and help them move their belongings into their dorms. This year's Freshman Move-In Day will take place on Wednesday, August 23 in the morning. If you'd like to volunteer, please CLICK HERE.
PLT Volunteer
The PLT alumni/student network is looking for theatre alumni who would be available to take phone calls or emails from undergraduate students and faculty to answer questions related to their experience within the performing arts industry, current position and/or advisory tips. Sign up by taking this quick survey.
